Hi All,
I am posting a PDF of maps to shown during lectures so you can test your knowledge of the Levels of Measurement discussed in class -- nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio.
Also, I recommend checking out the different projection links Ben has posted on Moodle. They will help set the record straight on any weird projections you come across.
Finally, if you want to learn Illustrator, or use it to make your maps, I am fine with this. However, our lab will not have Illustrator, so this will require working on your maps on your own computer or during limited availability across the hall in 455 Blegen -- when there are no classes in there. You can buy a student version of Illustrator for $99 or so online. If you buy any software, I would buy Illustrator and forgo FreeHand. But seriously, FreeHand is a good program and a wonderful tool for making maps. So do not feel as though you are missing out if you use FreeHand this semester. You can use it for years to come to make maps.
The slides are posted on the right! Have a great weekend! Best, Ian

After hearing that there have been several problems with people finding the Facebook Group, I decided to do a little sleuth work and have found out the following information.
Please let me know if you have problems and I will simply mail you an invite.
